Temple of the Santa Veracruz
El dia 13 de diciembre de 1753 se coloco la primera piedra de este templo dedicado al Santo Cristo de los Labradores (Señor de la Santa Veracruz), siendo Arzobispo de Mexico el Sr. Dr. Don Manuel Rubio y Salinas y Mayordomo de la Cofradia del Señor de la Santa Veracruz Don Bernardo Serrano.
Con gran regocijo de todo el Comun de Labradores, comerciantes, ricos y pobres, asi de esta como de las jurisdicciones inmediatas que graciosamente y gustosamente habían contribuido a la edificación del templo, fue dedicado solemnamente el dia 18 de febrero de 1797, siendo Arzobispo de Mexico y interino Virrey, Gobernador y Capitan General de esta Nueva España el Exmo. Sr. Dr. Don Alonso Nuñez de Haro y Peralta.
El Templo de la Santa Veracruz fue una de las seis capillas del Ex-Convento Franciscano de la Asuncion de Toluca.

Temple of the Holy True Cross
On December 13, 1753, the first stone of this temple was placed and dedicated to the Holy Christ of the Workers (Lord of the Santa Veracruz), being Archbishop of Mexico Manuel Rubio y Salinas and Leader of the Brotherhood of the Lord of Santa Veracruz Bernardo Serrano.
With great rejoicing from the Workers’ Collectives, merchants, rich and poor, as well as from this and from the immediate jurisdictions that had graciously and gladly contributed to the building of the temple, it was solemnly dedicated on February 18, 1797, being Archbishop of Mexico and interim Viceroy, Governor and Captain General of this New Spain the Most Excellent Dr. Alonso Nuñez de Haro y Peralta.
The Temple of the Santa Veracruz was one of the six chapels of the Franciscan Ex-Convent of the Assumption of Toluca.
