Regarding ZaSu Pitts House. ZaSu Pitts, born Eliza Susan Pitts (1894-1963), was an actress who starred in silent movies, including Erich von Stroheim's epic 1924 silent film Greed. The name ZaSu is a combination of Eliza and Susan - the correct pronunciation is "Say Zoo". In 1903, when Pitts was nine years old, her family moved from Parsons, Kansas, to Santa Cruz, California. In 1916, at the age of 22, she moved to Los Angeles to begin work in movies. Her last movie role was in It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World in 1963.
