Inscription. St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church was the first Lutheran Congregation to serve the Swanton Area. It was established in the year 1900 and a one room building was soon constructed in 1901 to serve as a place of worship. The congregation disbanded in 1945; however, the cemetery still remains.
