1. AH-1 Huey Cobra Helicopter Marker

Inscription. Attack helicopters came into widespread use in the mid sixties and chalked up over a million hours in Vietnam. The AH stands for attack helicopter. The original Cobra retained the Huey's engine, transmission and other major parts, but replaced the Huey's bulky fuselage with a thin profiled fuselage with tandem seating. The primary missions of the Cobra were close support, air escort, armed reconnaissance, air-to-air attack and anti-shipping operations. The rear seat pilot maneuvers the aircraft while the front pilot controls the weapons systems as well as being co-pilot. The Cobra is equipped with a 20mm cannon in the nose turret, XM-18 mini-guns and dual 70mm rocket pods. This helicopter was one of the deadliest and most accurate weapons of the era, delivering four thousand rounds per minute with pinpoint accuracy.
