1. This Wagon Marker
Inscription. This wagon was made for Cloice Nixon of Jackson, Michigan. It was manufactured prior to 1920 at the Jackson prison. To build these wagons the inmates were Fur taken across the street to the Jackson Carriage and Wagon Company. These wagons were the number one selling wagon that took pioneers westward during the Gold Rush traveling at the then remarkable speed of 3 miles per hour. The hay rack was designed to allow the Dary H narrow box to remain on the gear thereby providing a way to transport grain, fruits, and vegetables. This wagon was purchased at Mr. Nixon's estate auction in 2002.
