1. Built 1870s Marker
Inscription. The Smile Billiard and Drinking Saloon was on this site in the 1860s. Frank Earle Miller, a black barber, was proprietor of the Solid Comfort Shaving Parlor here from the 1880s to 1898. He also played with Winchester's quite popular Miller Orchestra. Martin's Drug Store, in business in various locations on the square for seventy-five years, was in this building from 1932 to 1971.
