Inscription. Solomon A. Shore, father of singer Dinah Shore, operated a department store here from 1914 to 1923. Dinah, as a child, sang for the customers while sitting on the counter. The store burned in 1924, and the present building was constructed and occupied by Kuhn's until 1935. The National Store, here from 1935 to 1979, was followed by Lynch Law Firm. During the 1950s and 1960s, local radio personality Joe Brewer conducted popular “man on the street” interviews here.
