Inscription. This building was constructed by merchant T. A. Embrey after a disastrous fire in 1884. J. M. “Hunky” Fitzpatrick's meat market was here until 1929, when Jenkins & Darwin Bros. Mercantile moved in and served Franklin County for forty-nine years before closing in 1978.
