1. Built 1880s Marker
Inscription. In 1881, a tightrope walker performed on a wire stretched between the corner building and the old courthouse cupola. Dr. Robert Knox gave his name to this building when he purchased it in 1906. H. C. Schwartz’s photographic studio was upstairs, along with some doctors' offices. Chero-Cola Bottling Works was downstairs, followed by a variety of other businesses. In 1948, Bob Winton established an auction and realty company in the corner office.
