1. East Wall Letters Marker
Inscription. As noted at marker #8 "Iron Letters on the Church," wrought iron letters were hammered into the mortar on this east wall, above the altar window. Originally the lettering was "LUX-L.I. TENEBR ORIENS-EX ALTO." (Light from on high shines in the darkness). Only a few letters remain to remind us of these early days.
 
Erected by The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America of the State of Delaware. (Marker Number 17.)
