1. Bob's Park Marker
Inscription. BOB'S PARK is dedicated to the memory of Bob Kennedy, third generation resident of West 35th Street. Bob was half American Indian, half Irish American and at one of the most difficult times for the neighborhood, when crime and prostitution was rampant, Bob was a fierce defender of the block.

The park is located next to 454 West 35th Street, the building Bob's Grandmother lived in, now supportive housing for the elderly and formerly homeless.

Developed by Clinton Housing Development Company in 1995, Bob's Park was the first new park created in Clinton/Hell's Kitchen since 1938, when Schermerhorn Playground on West 38th Street was opened. The Schermerhorn playground was demolished in 1953 to make way for the Lincoln Tunnel.

Today Bob's Park is a popular playground and lunch spot. The park is well used by seniors, nursery schools, local professionals and neighbors of all ages.
