1. Woolworth Students' Sit-in Marker
Inscription. On this site, February 11, 1960, a Woolworth Sit-in demonstration, the first in the U.S. by high school students (26), was held. Led by Reverends B.E. Cox and Fred Shuttlesworth, an 8-year battle against racial and social injustices ensued.
