Inscription. Home of R.J. Belk Company 1894-1938. Presented in 1970 to the Waxhaw Woman's Club by the families of William Henry Belk and Dr. John M. Belk. Restored 1973-1974 by the Waxhaw Woman's Club. Jack O. Boyte, Restoration Architect. Boyce M. Brown, Restoration Contractor.
