1. The Dutschke Ranch Marker
Inscription. Two German orphaned immigrant brothers come to the United States of America. One of them, John Hermann Deutschke finds his way to California and marries Maria Agnes Winter who was widowed on the journey west. In 1862, he purchases the first of various portions of the land which becomes the Dutschke Ranch. His son, Charles Jacob Dutschke inherits the ranch and leaves it to his two sons, Herman and Carleton Dutschke who operate it as Dutschke Brothers Ranch. For more than 150 years and at the time of this dedication, the ranch continues under the Dutschke Family ownership.
