1. Thonotosassa Chamber of Commerce Marker
Inscription. The Thonotosassa Chamber of Commerce, Inc. was founded Oct. 31, 1914, originally under the name Thonotosassa Board of Trade. It was credited with promoting construction of the first paved roads to Thonotosassa before World War I. In 1933 the Board of Trade persuaded Tampa Electric Company to provide electric power to the community for the first time. Since 1940, when it became the Chamber of Commerce, the organization has sought to work for the betterment of Thonotosassa.
