1. The White Horse Inn Marker
Inscription. The White Horse Inn is the oldest landmark remaining in our town and is architecturally dated to 1860. Originally named the Shamong Hotel in 1876. Our town was later renamed Chatsworth when Prince Mario Ruspoli formed a land syndicate with Jonathan Godfrey and other notable investors. The White Horse Inn was once the residence of Alfred Stevenson, who was the manager of this cranberry operation, Chatsworth Cranberry Association.
