1. Pope Valley Pioneer Cemetery Marker
Inscription. This property was used for family burial in 1880, when the property owner Elias Barnett, who arrived in Pope Valley by 1845, died. In 1903, Elias’ oldest son Jesse and his wife Loraine Barnett set aside the small piece of land “to be used for the burying of the dead and known as the Valley Cemetery.”. It is now located on private property surrounded by vineyards. The cemetery has been open to burial for all the people of Pope Valley and their relatives.
 
Erected 2017 by Native Sons of the Golden West. (Marker Number 141-06.)
