1. Rose Garden Marker
Inscription. Climbing roses and wisteria drape the pergola in this garden in spring to provide shade and pleasant fragrances. Beginning in spring and continuing into summer, floribunda roses delight with their brilliant colors. Marjorie Post, who died in 1973, chose this garden as her final resting place, instructing that her ashes be interred in the base of the pink granite granite monument at its center. The Post coat of arms decorates the monument, along with a Latin inscription that translates, "All my hopes rest in me," a fitting motto for a woman who lived life with determination and independence.
