1. 207 Sixth Street Marker

Inscription. This building was built between 1883 and 1886. It was the Mercy Hospital, operated by Dr. E.J. Mossman, who came to this town in 1876. Mercy Hospital served K and M Railroad employees as well as local residents. For a while the Mossmans lived on the second floor. The building also provided sleeping rooms for "layover" workers for the railroad.
