Inscription. President Wallace's strong leadership, 1953-1973, guided the college smoothly through racial "integration in reverse," the creation of "a living laboratory of human relations," and academic programs revitalization. he increased nontraditional enrollment with evening classes, constructed ten new buildings, began the WVSC Foundation, and built an outstanding ROTC program.
