1. Dogwood Tree Marker
Inscription. The wood of the dogwood tree was used for knitting needles and sled runners because of it’s smooth texture. Its natural strength also made it good material for fashinoning into wedges for splitting wood and in tool handles. County doctors made a bitter drink from a mixture of the flowers, fruit, and bark as a prescription for fevers and chills.
