Inscription.
Close by is a row of four matching tombstones for the sons of J.L. and Susan Marks: "Willie", "Guy", "Johnnie", and "Jimmie", who died during the years 1867 to 1877. It was not unusual for whole families of children to be lost to the ravages of diseases which today are of little concern.

Throughout the cemetery there are many children's graves, marked and unmarked. In fact, children and infants comprised a very large proportion of nineteenth and early twentieth century deaths. Families often could not afford to mark these graves with more than a rock or family memento, which was soon lost to time.
