1. Mansion of Gov. Hutchinson Marker
Thomas Hutchinson was the last royal governor of Massachusetts, and a frequent target for Colonial resentment of British authority. The mansion was ransacked on the night of August 26, 1765 in a protest against the Stamp Act.

This street has long been the home of gardens and governors. Across the street from the site of Hutchinson's mansion was the home of Governor "Honey Fitz" Fitzgerald, grandfather of President John F. Kennedy.
