1. Junction Building Marker
Inscription. Built by Seattle saloon owner Stephano Raggio in 1904, the Junction Building originally stood three stories tall with a crenellated turret. Unfortunately, fire destroyed the third floor, requiring its removal. In the early 1900s the ground floor was occupied by the Junction Saloon. A hall was also created here for community events. In 1910 the Crystal Theater opened, entertaining the public with moving pictures and performances until 1915. Initially, the upper levels provided office space for physicians and attorneys, including H.E. Peck, one-time Ballard mayor. In later years this space became home for the Junction Apartments, with a bank on the ground floor.

Built 1904
