1. Neptune Fountain Marker
Inscription.
A sculpture of Neptune, God of the Sea, was created in 1898 by J.W. Fiske. the fountain completed the development of the eastern side of the campus during Sailors' Snug Harbor's expansion. Over time, the original statue had to be moved into Building C to preserve and protect it from the elements. In 1994, the original was recast by the Modern Art Foundry in Queens and transported back to Snug Harbor via the Staten Island ferry.
