Louis B. Seltzer
Editor of
The Cleveland Press
1928 to 1966
Louis Seltzer was a journalistic giant and a civic visionary. Under his leadership, The Cleveland Press came to be regarded as one of the nation's greatest newspapers. Through Mr. Seltzer's efforts, and those of his newspaper, Greater Clevelanders learned of the City's bold plans to completely revitalize the rundown property on East 9th Street and to create a proud new office center called Erieview. Implemented during the terms of Mayors Anthony J. Celebrezze, Ralph S. Locher, Carl B. Stokes, Ralph J. Perk, Dennis J. Kucinich, George V. Voinovich, and Michael R. White, the Erieview Urban Renewal District is a testament to the breadth of Seltzer's vision and to his faith in Cleveland's ability to rebuild, redesign, and renew itself.
Dedicated by Judge Anthony J. Celebrezze,
Mayor Michael R. White & Council President Jay Westbrook.

In everything man does, without exception, a catalyst is required to bring ultimate fulfillment to dreams and hopes to crown research with success, to bring reality to vision, to put bricks and mortar and sinew and life to a plan, a design, and to a citys future.
