1. Palace Amusement Park Marker
Inscription. This park was part of the Palace Hotel complex and was owned and created by Charles Bancroft McClellan, Sr. Features included a two story building which housed an eight lane, five pin bowling alley on the ground floor and on the second floor a formal dance hall complete with big band orchestra and ball room dancing first and concluding with square dancing featuring Calvin "Cance" King on the fiddle. There was also a skating rink on the second story when not used for dances. Two gazebos with mineral water, one black and the other red were located here. A miniature golf course and a caddy shack were in this park. A shooting gallery, shuffle board, and gift shop were featured. A swimming pool was created in the creek between the park and the hotel.
