Regarding Sandhills Curiosity Shop, Erick, Oklahoma. The Sandhills Curiosity Shop is actually not a store, but more of a tourist attraction. Harley and Annabelle Russell bought the building and tried to make it a health food store, but it later became known as an entertainment destination. For many years, the two entertained hundreds of travelers with their redneck humor and songs. Harley was the inspiration of the "Mater" character in the Disney/Pixar film Cars, as he spent some time with Larry the Cable Guy (who voiced Mater). Annabelle passed away in 2014. Harley continues the tradition today, depending on the day or how he is feeling.
