Inscription. This two story wooden hotel was built by Ellis Witcher in 1926. It was also the Lincoln, Baker, and Owen Hotel. When the hotel business waned, the owner Dr. Royal A. Leslie turned it into a chicken house, keeping the chicks from newly hatched until full grown. This was in the late 1940's. It later operated again as a hotel and was torn down in the mid to late 1970's.
