La pila de “Sorinne" fue construida en este lugar con fines ornamentales, y de acuerdo al diseño del coronel de ingenieros Guillermo Woodon de Sorinne, luego de que en junio de 1877 fuese derribada la barda atrial que resguardaba el cementerio de la Compañía de Jesús. La planta del brocal se define con un trazo cuadrilobulado, en cuyo eje se localiza un surtidor bien proporcionado y finamente labrado. El brocal está moldurado en la cara exterior; se puede apreciar una greca de reminiscencia prehispánica y flores en relieve que se encuentran ubicadas al centro de cada lóbulo.
El surtidor se desplanta sobre un pedestal de sección cuadrangular, con las esquinas ochavadas casetonadas; en cada una de las caras sobresalen los magníficos relieves en forma de cabezas de león, de cuyos hocicos brota el agua. El segundo cuerpo del surtidor se integra por una columna de plinton peraltado ochavado, siendo los ochavos decorados con casetones mixtilineos y los frentes son decorados por cartelas rectangulares casetonadas, conteniendo cada una de ellas inscripciones, siendo el soporte a una columna de cuyo fuste estriado listelado sobresale en su tercio bajo, el relieve de una guirnalda de laureles.
Sorinne Font
The Sorinne Font was built in this place with ornamental purposes, and according to the design of Colonel of engineers Guillermo Woodon de Sorinne, after in June of 1877 was demolished the atrial farda that guarded the cemetery of the Company of Jesus. The plant of the rim is defined with a quadrilobular stroke, on whose axis is located a well proportioned and finely styled fountain. The rim is molded on the outer face; it can be apreciated a prehispanic reminiscence greca and flowers in relief that are located at the center of each lobe.
The water dispenser slides on a quadrangular section pedestal with truncated corners; on each face stands out the magnificent reliefs in lion heads form whose snouts water springs.
