Poeta y filosofo michoacano que nacio en la Hacienda de San Antonio Buenavista en el Valle de Mazamitla. Ilustre cultivador de la poesía latina pues comenzó la traducción de Las Eglogas y la Eneida de Virgilio.

Dentro de sus obras se encuentran su poema latino en hexámetros titulada De Deo Deoque Homine, Heroica, La Pasionaria, La Guadalupana y el Pico de Orizaba

Diego José Abad
1727-1779
Michoacan poet and philosopher who was born in the Hacienda de San Antonio Buenavista in the Mazamitla Valley. An illustrious cultivator of Latin poetry which he began with the translation of The Eglogas and the Aeneid of Virgil.

Among his works are his Latin poem in hexameters entitled De Deo Deoque Homine, as well as Heroica, La Pasionaria, La Guadalupana and the Pico de Orizaba.
