Healing Garden
A healing garden is a sanctuary which provides rest and renewal through the beauty of nature. The colors, scents, and textures of the plants along with the gentle gurgling of a fountain are calming and soothing. The garden offers us an escape from the chaos of life.
A healing garden also is a reminder of the historical use of therapeutical plants. For at least 60,000 years — from the Neanderthal Man to ancient herbalists, early Egyptians, and Medieval monks — man has used plants for healing. Today pharmaceutical companies are investigating herbs and plants to determine less costly, but still effective, ways to manage health.
"I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in tune once more.
