Chesterfield Township in St. Louis County, Missouri — The American Midwest (Upper Plains)
Clester Cabin
Little is known about its origin but its construction identifies it as a "settler's cabin" with one room, a partial loft, and a fireplace. It is named after the family that oversaw its restoration, using authentic materials whenever possible, such as wooden hinges on the door and rocks from nearby Babler Creek for the fireplace.
Moved to Conway Park in 1994, it is very near its original location, land now occupied by Mercy Hospital, which may have been land grant acreage.
Erected by City of Creve Coeur Parks & Recreation Department.

Additional commentary.
1.
This cabin has been disassembled in the early 2020's, with the logs being held at St. Louis County's Faust Park, to
be reassembled at their village there. The City of Creve Coeur was unwilling to maintain the cabin that had sat, since original construction, in their community. The cabin was first moved to make way for St. John's Hospital, now known as Mercy Hospital. The Clester family moved the log cabin to their property on Conway Road where it was restored and authentically furnished. Later the city of Creve Coeur moved the cabin to nearby Conway Park.
A similar fate orcurred with Hackmann Cabin. Also owned by Creve Coeur, and in Conway Park, when it was disassembled.
