Inscription. The Ohio State Board of Charities instructed county infirmaries to set aside a portion of land for a pauper cemetery. In 2019, the Wood County Museum dedicated a monument noting 252 confirmed burials in the Wood County Home Cemetery.

Interments primarily occurred under the supervision of former Superintendents Edwin Farmer (1878-1904) and Frank Brandeberry (1904-1949) with the last funeral occurring sometime in the mid 1940s.

Unfortunately, a map noting the dimensions of the cemetery and one specific master list noting burials does not exist. Information about the people listed on the monument was collected from several sources including infirmary ledger books and journals, death certificates, obituaries, and applications for relief. Additional information related to burials continues to be identified because advancements in technology allow researchers to investigate digitized newspapers with greater accuracy.

The following are confirmed burials identified since the dedication of the cemetery monument:

Alexander Agnews • John Burkett • William Downs • George "Charley" • Ensminger • John "Jack” Gill • John Johnson • John Kern • Margaret Kestler • Amelia Kinnaman • Fred Lew • Mazie McDonald (3 year old child) Conrad Straub • Ketruah/Electa Robinson
