1. Pestilence House 1933 Marker
Inscription. Over the course of many years, several contagious diseases infected inmates living in the main infirmary building. Communicable diseases included: influenza, cholera, pneumonia, and tuberculosis. Sick individuals were quarantined or isolated from other inmates to keep them from being exposed to the disease.

Fun Fact
The definition of pestilence is a fatal contagious epidemic disease. Apparently there were two pestilence houses, but documentation has not noted construction or demolition of the second house.
