1. Jim Crow and Segregation Era Events Marker
Inscription. Garland Hicks organized and interracial baseball league. Viola Hudson organized a black girl scout troop. Black men served in segregated units during World Wars I and II.

1. Capitalization in the marker
Capitalization has been taken verbatim from the marker. This marker was installed in 2016, and in 2020 the standard became to capitalize the term Black when referring to individuals of African descent. Additionally, since it's the name of an organization, Girl Scouts should e capitalized.
