1. Company L, First Texas Infantry Marker
Inscription. On July 18, 1917 the volunteer company to be known as company L of the First Texas Infantry was mustered into service at Gonzales.

Quartered in Gonzales, the men drilled daily on Gonzales High School grounds until their departure for Camp Bowie September 5, 1917.
