Regarding Lincoln the Orator. The sculpture is known as "Lincoln the Orator", as it is supposedly the first, or only, Abraham Lincoln statue to have his hand raised. Civil War Captain John W. Kitchell wanted a statue of his old leader at the cemetery. The statue was dedicated on October 29, 1903, and was rededicated in 1933. Kitchell is buried at Rosamond Grove Cemetery.

Close-up of the front of the statue. This is supposedly the first, or only, Abraham Lincoln statue with his hand raised. Statue was sculpted by Charles J. Mulligan, and commissioned by Civil War Captain John W. Kitchell.
