1. Katahdin Sheep Marker
Inscription. Katahdin are a breed of 'hair sheep' developed in the United States by amateur geneticist Michael Piel. The term 'hair sheep' means that Katahdins do not produce a fleece and do not require shearing. Their coats come in a variety of colors and textures; they naturally shed their hair during the spring and summer. Katahdins are hardy, low maintenance sheep that produce lean, meaty carcasses and are ideal for pasture-based management systems. Katahdins makes excellent mothers and are docile and easy to handle. Ewes usually mature to around 125 - 180 lbs and rams between 180 - 250 lbs.
