This is a page from 2012 showing the original Biowalk of Fame featuring the marker for Dr. Carson.
After Carson was named the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development in the Trump Administration, where his tenure was riddled with scandal, including misuse of funds, the plaque for Dr. Carson's legacy disappeared. It was later replaced with one for Dr. Charles R. Drew, a much less controversial American doctor of African American heritage.
Additionally, in recent years, Dr. Carson has embraced and encouraged pseudoscience and unverified medicine as well as involvement in multi-level marketing schemes, which has tainted his reputation.
In 1987, he served on a pediatric team that separated conjoined twins that were attached at the back of the head. Each of the patients survived for several years after, although they suffered neurological complications. He later successfully performed additional surgical separations of conjoined twins.
