1. Hobart Street Marker
Inscription. Randall Hobart arrived in Marshall in 1831 as a lay preacher who helped organize the local Methodist Church. He served as the Justice, who delayed the Kentucky slave hunters long enough to allow the Adam Crosswhite family to escape to Ontario through the underground railroad. He was one of the Wolverine Rangers who headed west in the Gold Rush in 1849, and purportedly died in California near the turn of the century.
