Buttermilk Road
Seven miles up this road was the Wells Diary Ranch, miners on their way up and down the road would stop for a cool glass of buttermilk.
(This is how Buttermilk got its name.)
This original road was used until the mid-1920s, when it was replaced by a road built by Edison to supply its facilities up Bishop Creek Canyon.
