1. Chester D. Hubbard Marker
Inscription. Born in Connecticut. November 25, 1814, he was a noted businessman in antebellum Wheeling. A member of the 1852-53 VA legislature, he also was a delegate to the 1861 Richmond Convention, where he voted against secession. Hubbard served in the 1861 Wheeling conventions, the WV State Senate. 1863-64, and the US House of Representatives, 1865-69. Died in Wheeling, August 23, 1891.
