The developers and owners of Douglas Park have transformed a legendary manufacturing plant into a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certified development with a diverse mix of office, hotel and industrial/manufacturing uses as well as a vibrant mix of shopping and restaurants. Douglass Park also offers expansive open space for the entire community to enjoy.
Douglas Aircraft began airplane production at this location in 1941. Over the years, Douglas Aircrafts and later the The Boeing Company produced 15,576 military and civilian aircraft on the site. During peak production, the Long Beach plant produced an airplane every two hours. At its height, the facility employed 50,000 workers and had the highest percentage of female employees of any plant in America."
