Caudillo de la Independencia Nacional participó en las Batallas del Monte de las Cruces y Aculco. Fue fusilado por los realistas en esta Plaza el 22 de diciembre de 1815.

A leader during the struggle for national independence, he participated in the Battles of Monte de las Cruces and Aculco. He was shot by the royalists in this square on December 22, 1815.
