The Weber House. . As shown on a Pomona Land Water Association map, the Weber House was built in 1885 by its owners, Thomas Oldam and John Park. John Weber acquired the home in 1892 and like other land owners in the area, Weber planted several acres of citrus trees. During these years, as the town grew, citrus fruit was shipped around the world. La Verne was known as the "Heart of the Orange Empire". When the Webers moved into a second home on the premises, the Weber House became residence for ranch foremen and their families, most notably the Garciduenas Family, who lived in the home for 25 years. After John Weber and his wife Augusta passed away in the 1940s, their heirs managed the ranch. In 1979 it was acquired by a developer who moved the house to its present location as a focal point for Heritage Park. The La Verne Heritage Foundation began restoration of the Weber House in 1985.
