1. Jackie Robinson Exceptional Athletic Ability Marker
Jackie Robinson demonstrated exceptional athletic ability, a fierce competitive nature and a will to win. It has been suggested that Jackie Robinson could have mastered any game. As a student at UCLA, Jackie Robinson became the first athlete to win varsity letters in four sports: Baseball (1940), Basketball (1940), Football (1939 & 1940), Track & Field (1940). On the court, Jackie Robinson was referred to as a "one of a kind" athlete, easily outplaying other college students. He was signed to the Los Angeles Red Devils, one of a number of area barnstorming teams, prior to being inducted into the Army in 1942.
1940 and 1941: UCLA Basketball Jackie Robinson led The Southern Division of the Pacific Coast Conference in scoring in both 1940 (12.4 average in 12 League games) and 1941 (11.1 average in 12 League games).
Jackie Robinson was inducted into the UCLA Sports Hall of Fame on June 10, 1984, as a Charter Member and The National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962.

Regarding Exceptional Athletic Ability. This Daytona Beach Ballpark is named in honor of famed Major League Baseball player Jackie Robinson. In 1946, Daytona Beach was the only city along the spring season circuit to allow Robinson to play. This event helped Robinson to eventually break the color barrier in major league baseball. On October 22, 1998, this stadium was added to the United States National Register of Historic Places.
