Augustine F. Falcione
1939 - 2003
A dedicated foreign language teacher in the Philadelphia Public School System for over 20 years, Augustine believed that the best way to foster world understanding among young people was through the study of foreign languages and international travel.
Born in Italy, Augustine came to Philadelphia in 1955 to pursue a career in education. Inspired by his passion for teaching and travel, he founded his own company, CHA Educational Tours, in 1969 and became one of the early pioneers in the field. Thanks to his unique inspiration and vision, thousands of American teachers and students continue to see the world on CHA tours each year.
This building, formerly the Di Berardino Bank, which serviced European Immigrants for over 100 years, was the company's headquarters from 1975 to 1986.
