Building a Park System
The CCC and Wisconsin State Parks: 1933-1942
Crews here and elsewhere in Wisconsin operated under the philosophy that all built structures should blend in with natural surroundings. Characteristic of this "rustic" style are massive hand-hewn timbers, native stone, and meticulously hand-placed stone walkways that seem to grow out of the landscape.
CCC-built structures at Devil's Lake are marked with the CCC logo.
