When Gamaliel Fenton was born on 31 January 1764, in Mansfield, Windham, Connecticut Colony, British Colonial America, his father, Jonathan Fenton, was 22 and his mother, Mary Cary, was 19. He married Sarah Elizabeth Webber about 1788, in Mansfield, Tolland, Connecticut, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 4 daughters.
